Roger G. Addington has been at the heart of Hartley Thomas & Wright for more than four decades, joining the firm as an Assistant Solicitor in 1982 before becoming a Partner in 1983. Following the retirement of Peter A. Riley in 2016, Roger continued the firm’s proud tradition as Sole Practitioner, building on a legal legacy that stretches back to 1745.
Throughout his career, Roger has been committed to providing practical, straightforward legal advice with a strong emphasis on personal client care. He has overseen the firm’s continued growth and development while preserving the traditional values that have earned Hartley Thomas & Wright the trust of generations of clients across Rochdale and the surrounding areas.
With extensive experience across a broad range of legal matters, Roger has helped guide individuals, families and businesses through some of life’s most important decisions. Under his leadership, the firm has continued to evolve, including the successful acquisition of Rhodes & Co. in 2003, expanding both its expertise and client base.

Debbie Webster is a Senior Legal Assistant at Hartley Thomas & Wright and has been a valued member of the firm for over 18 years. During her long-standing career with the firm, she has built a wealth of knowledge and experience, becoming a trusted source of support for both clients and colleagues.
Working closely with the firm’s solicitors, Debbie provides comprehensive assistance across a wide range of legal matters, including conveyancing, probate and private client work. Legal Cashier
Catherine is HTW Law’s Legal Cashier and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the firm’s client and office accounts, ensuring full compliance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules.
With over 15 years’ experience in finance and accounting, Catherine has held a number of senior finance roles across both professional practice and commercial organisations. Her background includes financial management, client and office account administration, payroll, cash flow management, budgeting, management reporting and financial controls.
Catherine is known for her meticulous attention to detail, strong organisational skills and practical approach to financial management. She plays a key role in supporting the firm’s solicitors and ensuring that financial transactions are processed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
